Strike a match and put it out features artworks across a variety of sculptural and visual mediums that are completed through the presence or activation of a participant.
Stemming from an interest in interconnectedness, the exertion of will, and the phenomenon whereby observing a system inevitably alters that system, the exhibition includes works that invite touch, are responsive to presence, provide immersive architectures, exchange currency and meaning for imagery, and even self-negate.
As you complete these works with your gaze, action, and presence, we hope the boundary between artist, gallery, and visitor will become a little thinner, allowing for reconsideration of the time spent between these walls, and the possibilities deeply interwoven between art, sensory perception, and life.
